THESYS® Oligonucleotide Synthesis

ACS Column

THESYS ACS

Product Overview

ACS Column

The THESYS® ACS Column is ideal for rigid solid supports that don’t swell. This flow-through synthesis column offers “hoist-free” operation for easy frit removal and simplified column packing and unpacking via axial compression with an integrated piston. The piston is always in contact with the packed solid support without a gap.

Benefits

Active Flow Distribution

CAD-modeled “active” flow distribution generates uniform dispersal of amidites and reagents across the entire column surface, even for columns packed with short bed heights, resulting in maximum coupling efficiency.

X
Distributor plate with CAD-modeled “active” flow distribution for uniform dispersal of amidites and reagents.
X
Slurry inlet port to permit closed transfer of slurried solid support prior to packing.

A Range of Features and Options

The THESYS® ACS Column includes a slurry inlet port to simplify the loading of your solid support. Its slurry outlet port can be used to unpack your solid support, and also to take samples of your support during the synthesis process after depressurizing the column.

Other Options Include:

  • Electropolishing

What makes the THESYS® ACS Column suitable for rigid supports that don’t swell?

The Asahi THESYS® Column is specifically designed for rigid supports, offering a flow-through design that ensures efficient dispersion of reagents. The column’s piston remains in constant contact with the packed solid support, preventing any gaps and ensuring consistent performance.

How does the "hoist-free" operation of the THESYS® ACS Column simplify maintenance?

The “hoist-free” operation allows for easy frit removal and simplifies column packing and unpacking through axial compression of the integrated piston. This design eliminates the need for additional lifting equipment, making maintenance quicker and more convenient.

What are the benefits of the slurry inlet and outlet ports on the THESYS® ACS Column?

The slurry inlet port enables easy loading of solid supports, while the slurry outlet port allows for efficient unpacking of soft supports or sampling. These features streamline the process of column preparation and maintenance, saving time and effort.

What advantages does the integrated piston design of the THESYS® ACS Column offer?

The integrated piston design allows for axial compression, keeping the piston in continuous contact with the solid support. This eliminates gaps, reducing the risk of channeling and ensuring even reagent distribution throughout the synthesis process.
